She certainly didn’t get to the top by bowing to bullies like Kell. But the bigger question is: Why can’t she fight the urge to bed him?

Bagy 17, Rexanne rated it it was ok. I am so disappointed with this book. I marathon-ed all books in the trilogy today and I was looking forward to Emma and Kell’s story since Book 1. I was expecting this would be my favorite. I guess it’s true that one should expect nothing so one would ktaherine get disappointed. I’m frustrated because there are so many scenes that could have been written better. The elevator scene was promising but it flopped.
The family bonding moments between Kell, Emma and her son Sammy could have been more nu I am so disappointed with this book. The family bonding moments between Kell, Emma and her son Sammy could have been more numerous and laden with emotion. The same goes for the “i love you” and “will you marry me” scenes.
While reading, I feel so detached from what’s happening instead of empathising on what the characters are feeling. Like what I said in my review of the previous books, there’s so much wasted potential: The only scenes that worked for the author are the numerous steamy ones, and as I tend to skip those parts, I didn’t really enjoy them.
All in all I give this 2 stars. I really wish I got to give them more: Aug 27, Jean rated it it was amazing Shelves: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Emma and Kell have been sworn enemies since the business feud that started garbeera their grandfathers. When Kell manages a hostile takeover of Emma’s gaming company, they are forced to have to face each other.
Kell is bent on revenge for the past, but hits a stumbling block when he discovers he is attracted to Emma. Emma is a widow with a three year old son.
She is trying to maintain her dignity along with preserving the legacy she feels her son I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. She is trying to maintain her dignity along with preserving the legacy she feels her son deserves. I loved the chemistry between Kell and Emma. They both had emotional issues they had to busiess in order to figure out what they wanted with the future, and if it included each other.
This was a great story and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a romance that includes a bit of an emotional roller-coaster. Sep 03, Lesley rated it it was ok.
This book was ok, but I knew going in Kell was not businses very likable person and so it was hard to cheer for him. The romance was hard for me to buy into, because I’m not sure how Emma could keep work and personal separate given how she was being treated at her company. I think she settled quite a bit and deserved more.
I did love Sammy’s name for Kell – that made me giggle. Mar 31, Beth marked it katheine dnf. Very repetitive and couldn’t connect with the characters. Stopped after 32 pages. Jan 28, Maura rated it liked it Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains bsby. To view it, click here. This kathernie the man who was so obsessed with revenge and hatred for the Chandler family that he was ready to take over their company and throw them katherie out on their asses.
But time I guess has mellowed him a bit and suddenly he’s looking at Emma and the possibility of belonging in her bed and with her and her son as a ready-made family. He’s never had one and husiness so tempting. But does he want her so much because of belonging or does he love her? Emma for her part Another 2. Emma for her part doesn’t know either whether it’s because she feels left out at her siblings happiness.
Both of them feel real fear at the idea of being in love. And when they both consider Sammy, Emma’s 3-year-old son, they have to overcome that fear or risk hurting him as well as each other. So, I was looking forward to reading this so I could finally figure out what made Kell tick.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really go there. Yes, he grew up with his revenge-driven grandfather and he never really knew love or belonging, and that explains why he’s as emotionally closed off as he is.
It businezs explains why he bonds so quickly with Emma. But it doesn’t explain why he’s so driven by revenge – why he can’t see that the people he’s hurting had nothing to do gatbera hurting his varbera, who he didn’t even like. I wanted some explanation for why Kell felt he had to hurt the Chandler sisters.
For Her Son’s Sake
Had he loved his grandfather or felt he had something to prove, I might have understood. Kell and Emma were likeable enough, but frustrating with their fears and constant inner-monologues about how unlovable Kell feels he is and how afraid to risk Emma is.
Sammy was absolutely adorable and I definitely wanted more of him. Par for the course with this series – they all rated about the same for me. On a side note, this book seemed to have quite a few typos and somewhere in the second book, I think the author forgot that DJ Dec’s son was only 9 months and that it had been 18 months since Dec and Cari had parted.
But now, 3 months later, all of a sudden DJ is 21 months, suggesting that Cari had the shortest pregnancy ever! Sep 21, Amanda Butler rated it it was amazing. I’ve always loved stories when a man falls in love not just with the woman but also her child as well.
Oct 28, Melody Cox rated it liked it. That saddens me because ‘For Her Son’s Sake’ was the conclusion that I waited for months to be released. The main problem, for me, was the redundancy. Each chapter was repetitive of the one before, giving you the same old song and dance time and time again.
I wanted to scream ‘enough already! That was story 2. That was storyline and not much else. There was very little about the takeover of the Chandler business into the hands of the Montrose family who had been sworn enemies much of their lives. Emma Chandler is a widow with a three-year-old son and doesn’t want him to grow attached to Kell Montrose who is a broken man because of his upbringing. He has vowed never to marry and has never loved anyone in his life thinking he is incapable.
He lived his life with a grandfather whose whole purpose was to seek revenge on the Chandlers and their gaming empire. Kell Montrose is very attracted to his sworn enemy, Emma Chandler, and has been for a very long time.
He now wants to act on it by having a sex-only relationship to get her out of his system. Emma believes that having Kell in her bed for a night will satisfy her itch for the hard-as-steel, unfeeling man, but they both quickly discover that is not the case. I would recommend this book because it’s the conclusion to a series, nonetheless, I felt it was disappointing and failed to live up to books one and two. Oct 27, Hanna Berry rated it really liked it.
This is a quick and easy read.
